Dave Merrittwas born in Tifton, Georgia. After high school he entered the US Army as a Private and retired 27 years later as a Lieutenant Colonel. He later worked for PriceWaterhouseCoopers and is currently a Project Manager with the IBM Corporation. Dave has 10 years in Rotary and has served at the District level as an Assistant Governor, Focus Group Coordinator, and District Trainer. At the Club level he served twice as President and is currently serving as club service coordinator. His hobbies include fishing, boating and golf. He’s married to the former Shelia Tomey of Waynesboro, VA, has two children and four grandchildren. Dave and Shelia currently live in Chester, VA. |

Dick Good. My twin brother and I were born August 3, 1925, in Hagerstown, Maryland. Our family moved too Colonial Heights during the Great Depression. I met my future wife in the second grade of Colonial Heights Hill School. We have two daughters, one son, five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Martha and I recently celebrated our 65th wedding anniversary.
At age 18 I was inducted into the Army Infantry. A few months later, I landed on Utah Beach in France. Two years after that, after Germany surrendered, I returned home.
In 1950 I took a job at Fort Lee in the Maintenance Division and worked there until my retirement in 1986.
I joined Rotary in March 1972 and served as the President in 1976-77. |

promoted and transferred back to Richmond in 1989 and retired Sep 1992.
I have been married to my lovely wife Nita for 54 happy years. We have 3 daughters, 4 grandaughters, 1 grandson and are about to have our 1st great grandaughter in Nov. |

Nancy Vance graduated from Shepherd College, in Shepherdstown, WV with BA degree, Virginia Commonwealth University with a Master’s Degree and University of Virginia with a Doctorate Degree in Administration and Supervision. She started her career as a teacher in Chesterfield County in l966. She served as assistant principal and in l973 went to the Virginia Department of Education and served for l9 years in several supervisory positions and as Director of Staff Development. Served as Assistant Superintendent in Dinwiddie and Essex Counties and as School Superintendent in Warren County, Virginia and in Kingsport, TN. She retired from education with a career of 36 years. Joined Rotary in March, 1996-Front Royal, VA Rotary Club, and transferred to Kingsport, TN Rotary Club in 2001. Served on Rotary Committees, including Scholarship Committee and developed criteria for Rotary Teacher of the Year in Front Royal. In 2004 joined the Rotary Club in Colonial Heights, VA and served as President two terms. She has been married to Don Vance for 43 years and they reside in Colonial Heights, VA. They represented the Colonial Heights, Rotary Club on the Friendship Exchange Trip to Kent England in Summer, 2008. |

Judi Vaughn joined the Colonial Heights Rotary Club in 1991 and has twice served as President of our club. She also served as treasure for 6 years, as the RYLA Chairperson for our club, and has managed the Colonial Heights Rotary Club Educational Foundation for over 10 years. Judi hails from Alexandria VA and grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. She moved to this area in 1970. Judi has 17 years in Rotary, 13 of which are with perfect attendance. After 25 years in the automobile industry, Judi returned to banking and currently serves with Virginia Commonwealth Bank. |

Chris Merritt was born on Fort Campbell, KY and move around all throughout his childhood as an Army BRAT. He finished high school in Prince George, VA and attended VCU where he got his bachelor's degree in computer science. He then received his master's degree in information assurance from Norwich University. He has his CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) certification and is the preseident and CEO of Prolific Solutions, LLC where he does information security consulting, process engineering, compliance audit, and secure development. He is married to his wonderful wife Ryan, has a son named, Casey, a daughter, Mackenzie, and, a dog named, Handsome. |

Wilfred E. “Bill” Mann hails from Matoaca, VA and has been a member of the Colonial Heights Rotary Club since April of 1956. He served as President of the club in 1961-62 and again in 1987-88. During his years of membership, he has received the Paul Harris Fellow award three times. In June of 2007, Bill was recognized by the Colonial Heights Club for his 38 years of perfect attendance. He served his Nation in WWII from 1943 to 1946 in the European Theater and then in the Pacific Theater. Later, Bill served as a federal employee at Fort Lee. He was a founding member of St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Colonial Heights, and was predeceased by his wife of almost 50 years, Irene Carterette. He and Irene had one child, Louise. |

Tim Stafford was raised in Colonial Heights, VA. Graduated from Colonial Heights Height School, Studied Architectural Technology & Building Construction at John Tyler Community Collage while serving on a Co-Op Program with the Army Corps of Engineers, Norfolk District. For the past 27 years have worked in the central Virginia area in commercial & residential construction industry. 23 of which as president of Berkwood Construction Corp. Member of the Colonial Heights Rotary Club since 1991. Spouse – Mary Susan, Children - Lauren, Nicholas & Benjamin currently resides in Matoaca, VA |

Eugene Chiodo was born and raised in Carnegie, Pennsylvania. After graduation from Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP), he entered the US Army retiring after 26 years of service, with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. Subsequently, he worked for the Computer Sciences Corporation. He married his college sweetheart, the former Roseann Pelliccione of Butler PA. Gene and Roseann are the parents of four children and grandparents of ten grandchildren |

James Jacobs (Jeff) was born in Clinton, NC. He earned his B.B.A from Campbell University, a M. Div. from Southeastern Babptist Theological Seminary, a M.S. in Psychology from University of Central Texas, and a Ph.d. in psyhology with a specialization in Psychology from Capella University. Jeff retired in 1999 from Army Reserve as a chaplain after 27 years of service at the rank of Lt. Colonel. He is currently in private practice as a marriage and family thereapist and substance addiction therapist. Jeff has been a Rotarian for 9 years, during this time he has served as club president, as a Rotary Leadership Institute faculty member, and as an area Rotary Foundataion Advocate. He is also a multiple Paul Harris Fellow. His hobbies include traveling, racquetball, walking, and reading. He is married to the former Carolyn Sue Bledso of Blackwater, VA, has a daughter and a granddaughter. Jeff currently lives in Chesterfield, VA. |

John DuVal is a lifelong resident of central Virginia. He is a 1985 graduate of Virginia Tech and is an avid supporter of the Hokies. After college, he worked as a High School Business and Marketing Teacher and Cooperative Education Coordinator for 18 years. John has been a Real Estate agent for nearly 20 years and is also the Marketing Specialist for Emerald Homes, a local homebuilder. In addition, he is a founder and the Managing Member of Midlothian Ventures, LLC an organization that offers Lease/Purchasing of new, or nearly new, homes. John has been a member of our club for 12 years and has served two terms as club President. He and his wife Carol reside in Midlothian with their children Will and Kathryn. |

John Williams was born in Mobile, Alabama in 1936. His family includes his wife of 52 years, Yvonne, four children and 9 grandchildren. Jon holds a BA from the University of Alabama and a Masters Degree from Shippensburg State College (PA). He was a career Army Officer for 26 years and served in combat in the Republic of Vietnam, retiring from the Army in 1985 as a Colonel. After his retirement from the Army, Jon worked as a procurement manager for the Commonwealth of Virginia. He is an active member and Deacon at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, a resident of Colonial Heights, Virginia since 1976, a local election official, and a Member of the Colonial Heights Rotary Club since 1986. Jon has served as Club President and is a Paul Harris Fellow. He enjoys spending time and traveling with his family, fishing, golf and is an avid bow hunter. |

Mark Zuskin was born and raised in Prince George, VA. After graduating from high school he spent four years in Burlington, NC earning his Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from Elon College. He returned home to the Tri Cities and spent thirteen years in retail banking working for a Hopewell-based bank before moving into commercial banking. Since, he has spent the last seven years as a commercial lender in Colonial Heights where he serves as Senior Vice President for EVB. Mark has one daughter, Lauren, and they live in Colonial Heights where he has resided since 1998. |

Charles Odom was born in Durham, NC. After college and a short employment with Carolina Power and Light Co., he joined the US Army and retired 20 years later as a Lieutenant Colonial. He was employed by Computer Sciences for 14 years as a Systems Analyst. He is a currently a partner in a small computer business. Charles has 20 years in Rotary and has served as President. His hobbies include woodworking and genealogy. He is a member of several lineage societies. Charles is married to the former Carla Whitehurst of Durham, NC. They have two daughters and three grandchildren. Charles resides in Colonial Heights, VA. |

Carolyn Jacobs was born in Blackwater, VA. She received her Associate of Arts Degree from Hiwassee College, Madisonville. TN, Bachelor of Science Degree, East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, TN and Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Seminary, Wake Forest, NC. In 1984 she entered the U.S. Army as a Chaplain and retired after 20 years of service from Fort Lee, VA, March 2004.Carolyn currently serves as the Bereavement and Volunteer Coordinator for Hospice Community Care, Glen Allen, VA. She joined Rotary August 2004 and is currently serving as vice president. Her hobbies include reading, traveling, exercising and photography. She is married to James Jacobs of Clinton, NC, has a daughter, Cristin Barfield and a granddaughter, Savannah Barfield. Carolyn currently resides in Chesterfield, VA. |

Dave Hargrave hails from Richmond, Virginia and is a retired Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. He has been a Rotarian for over 27 years and has served as President, Secretary, Treasurer, and in each Avenue of Service at the club level. He has two children and two grandchildren and has been married to his bride Betty for 48 year. Dave served his Nation for 20 years in the United States Air Force and retired at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. During his military service he spent time in the Republic of Vietnam with the 903d Air Evacuation Medical Squadron. After retirement he served in the Department of Anesthesia at the Medical college of Virginia for 18 years. Dave currently resides in Colonial Heights and serves as a member of the Board of Directors for the Colonial Heights Rotary Club. |

Jo Phillips was born in Carmel, California, and grew up in Central Valley, CA. He graduated from the United States Military Academy, New York, in 1992 (The Brave and The Few), with a Russian language degree. He is currently serving in the U.S. Army as a major assigned to the Combat Arms Support Command (CASCOM), until the summer of 2009. He is a member of Army Aviation, and has served in Germany, Texas, Bosnia, Minnesota, Alabama, Virginia, and Iraq. He served as an Aviation Unit Maintenance company commander for two years, followed by two more years as the company commander of the Minneapolis Recruiting company, where he attended his first Rotary meeting in 2002. He is married to Susie Phillips of Fargo, ND, and has two sons, Rick and Alex. They currently live in Prince George, VA. |
